Being brought up in the country side usually means that your closest friend is a couple of hours of drive away. Being a nipper in an environment such as that usually involve playing alone.

That is when your imagination develops and to this day, it has never left me. To say the least, games where I need to involve my tactical capabilities rarely end with me being the looser. Also, you surely will not find it strange that my wife and I met at countryside dating and both prefer long walks on a nice day rather than spending our afternoons and weekend indoors.

Hence our membership at countryside dating. There is (not only) one more thing we both are fond of. History.

Especially the history of the Roman Empire. I came across Ars Dimicandi, this Italian website which is all about combat, especially the way gladiators used to confront at that time.
